Satellite Direct cover
If you are still sitting around the family room using cable, and loving it, well...maybe you just aren"t ready for this major move. Maybe you believe that "watching TV" is something to do now and then when you"re bored and you don"t believe that watching TV is actually a lifestyle. However, if you have ever - even once - thought to yourself, "Should I get satellite TV?" maybe there"s hope for you yet!
Satellite TV not only offers millions of TV channels (well, hundreds...) but it offers premium radio stations with selections you don"t find on your local station guide. It lets you get rid of that VCR (it"s that metal and plastic thing on the bottom of the TV stand that has been collecting dust for ten years because you couldn"t figure out how to program it) and have total control of when and what to watch.
Of course, we haven"t even talked about the picture quality yet! If you have an HD TV, yet you never subscribed to an HD service to take advantage of what HD has to offer, you"re missing out on an entire world of entertainment. Without the HD service, an HD TV gives you nothing beyond an analog set.

If you"re still sitting there asking "Should I get satellite TV?" - how about this: it can be so much cheaper than cable! Even after your usual three or six month intro packages, your resulting monthly charge - for what you get - is a deal. Even without adding premium stations like HBO and Showtime, you pay less per TV channel than with cable and get more for your money.
Many cable companies charge you a pretty penny to add the HD service to your plan (does that even make sense to you?). With satellite TV, that"s the whole idea! You get true HD all over without getting charged for it. Is that brilliant, or what?
Still not sure? Remember that VCR that you never used? Donate it to an antiques collector and learn about "video on demand". It"s just what it sounds like. When you want to watch something - no matter what - as long as it"s already been aired - you can! You don"t need to program it, save it, find a cabinet to put these in, or anything. It"s all in cyberspace. You want to see Gone with the Wind for 218th time? Go for it!
